a) Secure/Register a domain name
A domain name is the address for your website (such
as google.com). It's how your website will be
found by your visitors. Once you register a domain name, it can only be used by
you (domain name administrator) during
the period for which you reserve it (usually a year or more).
Domain name registration does not create a website accounts for you
(!).
For that, you need a web host (such as dreamlink.Net).
Every website you visit is actually just some files on a
computer somewhere. Those computers are usually named "servers" because
they serve web pages to internet visitors. Serving web pages is
commonly known as web hosting.
Your domain name must be pointed to your web host using a DNS

Ok , how to point your domain
name to your preferred Web Host ?
If you want register your domain through us , you do not
need to make other changes. We'll automatically apply
correct DNS to your domain name and your domain name will start to work with
your hosting account in 24 hours or less .
If you want register your domain through us simply
order now an hosting
account and enter your
preferred domain name. If your new domain name is not available you'll be
invited to enter/search another domain name.
If you have already registered your domain through any other Domain Name
Registrar (like Networksolutions.com )

b) Create, upload and edit your
Website !
Ok, if your domain name is pointing our nameservers you can
start to use your hosting account . Create a website on your computer and then upload it to
your Hosting account using an FTP client or the cPanel File Manager .

Do you do regular backups of my account ?
Yes, we perform nightly backups on all accounts, but don't
count on our backups alone . Your website is important, and you
are the one ultimately responsible for ensuring that your data is
backed up . We make every effort to back up all account data on a
nightly basis, but we don't guarantee that our backups will be
complete, up to date or even available at all. We are not
responsible in the event that some or all of your account data and
settings are lost (please see our service
agreement for more information).
You should always keep an up to date copy of your website on
your local computer. That way you will always have a copy of your
site on hand in the event of data loss. You can do that using the
control panel.
Will you install custom Perl modules ?
Yes. Our technical support team will install almost any Perl
module upon request. Simply contact customer service with your
request.
Will you install my programs and scripts for
me?
No. Our hosting accounts come with an autoinstaller that allows
you to install several scripts with the click of a button (phpbb
forum , blog , chat , web counters, and much other). If, however,
you need to install scripts that are not available on our control
panel , we can not assist you.
What platform or operating system
(OS) do you use?
Our servers run Apache Web server over Cloudlinux 64bit.
Do you have a
money back guarantee ?

I have my own SSL
certificate ; can Dreamlink install it for me ?
Sure, we allow you to use your own SSL certificate if you'd
like. You should upgrade your account with a dedicated ip address .
There is a no fee to install your custom SSL certificate. Please

What if I need more space and
bandwidth ?

My website gets a
lot of traffic ; will this be a problem ?
This usually depends on the nature of your website. While
relatively straightforward sites (think basic html/xhtml content,
most shopping sites, webpages, blogs, etc.) can receive tens of
thousands of hits at any given time and work perfectly fine,
problems can arise with more complex sites; sites with lots of
images, scripts or interactivity with visitors. Tens of thousands of
users each accessing a database at the same time can cause quite a
strain on a server and might be too much for a shared web hosting
environment.
The thing to remember is that the term "shared hosting" (which is
another term for standard web hosting) means that your site will
share a server with other users. This allows for plenty of usage
while keeping prices low, but certain sites may not be appropriate
for such an environment. If you are unsure whether your high volume
website will work with our shared plans, please feel free to
contact our sales department, and we will be
happy to assist you in determining the best solution for your needs.

No, you will need to contact your local Internet
Service Provider (ISP) for local dial-up access to the
Internet.
Can I pay for my server using my PayPal account or via bank wire ?
We accept Paypal and Wire Transfers. If you want pay using Wire
Transfer please contact our Sales Dept.
Do you offer 24 hour

Yes , we support subdomains such as
"name.yourdomain.com". To make a subdomain login to
your control panel and click on "Subdomains." There you will
see a place to manage and add subdomains.

What is the Control Panel?

What kind of technical support do
you not provide?
We do not provide any technical support relating to
HTML syntax, Java programming, JavaScripting, any 3rd party

How long does it take to get my
account set up?
We guarantee that all our Hosting plans will be
online within 6 hours. More complex
configurations will be up and running within 12 hours.
If your order wasn't setup within 6 hours, it has likely
been flagged for further review and verification by a
customer service representative. You do not need to take any
further action. Our staff continuously checks the order
queue for orders requiring verification and will contact you
via email or phone if additional information is required to
process your order.
Orders are manually reviewed during business hours . If for

department after a full business day, please

Do you
support telnet/ssh?
Due to security reason we don't allow ssh/telnet on our

Do you allow SPAM ?
Dreamlink Web Hosting takes a zero tolerance approach
to the sending of Unsolicited Commercial E-mail (UCE) or SPAM over
our network. Very simply, this means that customers of Dreamlink Web
Hosting may not use or permit others to use our network to transact
in UCE. Customers of Dreamlink Web Hosting may not host, or permit
hosting of, sites or information that is advertised by UCE from
other networks. Violations of this policy carry severe penalties,
including termination of service.
Will you send me spam ? Do you
have a privacy policy ?
No. We spend countless hours combating spam. It doesn't make much
sense for us to turn around and send unsolicited mail ourselves.
